The event will be held on Saturday 27th April 2018, 6pm - 10.30pm, at Melplash Village Hall, Melplash, Dorset, DT6 3UD and the adjoining field.
The event is only possible because of the generosity of the cider producers. They donate every drop of the cider so a huge thank you to them.
Producers come from Dorset, Devon, Somerset, Hampshire, Herefordshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Kent, and as far afield as Yorkshire and Scotland. If any other producers are interested in joining in, please get in touch.
This year there will be over 20 producers donating to the festival. During the afternoon they will get together to judge the cider competition. This year there will be awards for the best dry, medium and sweet ciders. Once the doors are open to the public the producers will serve their cider and be on hand to answer questions.
Hot food with vegetarian options will be available from several local food concessions.
ADMISSION BY TICKET ONLY. Tickets cost £6 and are available from:
Tickets for cider will be sold separately at the event at £1.50 for 1⁄2 a pint. Cider tickets are strictly for over 18s. Soft drinks will also be on sale.
Entertainment will be provided by the leading Scrumpy and Western band, The Skimmity Hitchers. They will continue their "quest to bring proper job drinkin’ music to the masses". They performed at the festival last year, have played at Camp Bestival, and have toured as far afield as Oregon, Washington and Vancouver. They will be supporting the Wurzles at The Electric Palace on Sat 20th April.
The Melplash Village Hall is a registered charity (Charity no. 301152) and an essential resource for the local community. The Melplash Village Hall Committee have decided to put the proceeds of the event towards refurbishment works that local volunteers have started.
